Barrel galvanising (+ sealing)
barrel galvanising

Barrel galvanising is a type of galvanised coating which is suitable for small parts. These are rotated in dedicated barrels which imbue a uniform and homogeneous galvanised surface on the small parts.

Each piece undergoes a particular process of electrolysis which causes the zinc ions to migrate onto the steel, forming a passivation layer with exactitude (in different colours).

This type of galvanising is ideal for trivalent chromium finishes and other treatments.

In particular, the following passivation can be achieved with thealkaline barrel system (+ sealing) :
  • BRIGHT WHITE II TRIVALENT
  • GREEN V HEXAVALENT
  • BLACK VI TRIVALENT
  • YELLOW III HEXAVALENT
  • CHROMITING IV TRIVALENT

KEY:

Codice: Colour:
II BRIGHT WHITE
III YELLOW
IV CHROMITING - (BIANCO IRIDISCENTE)
V GREEN
VI BLACK
S SEALING

TRIVALENT: No Chromium VI is present

HEXAVALENT: Chromium VI is present

III and V are hexavalent, the market does not currently offer a suitable alternative in trivalent for both the resistance to salt spray and aesthetic effect.
